Misfits Market

Overview

Whether you’re downsizing, consolidating operations or closing up shop, you have a lot on the line. From emotional to financial pressures to tough expectations and critical timing. This is a moment when you need to have complete confidence that you can get the absolute most for your assets, and know you’re working with a partner who’s willing to go above and beyond to protect your interests.

When food distribution company Misfits Market announced their plan to streamline operations by closing three of their facilities, they needed a trusted network of auctioneers to complete the project efficiently. With a lot at stake and a tight timeframe to work against, CIA Industrial teamed up with two auction partners, Joseph Finn on the East Coast and Texas-based New Mill Capital, to ensure the project ran smoothly and would be completed on time. Their plan of attack called for each of the three locations to host a one day auction with primary assets including Pallet Racking & Components and various Warehouse Support Equipment.

Outcome

With an aggressive timeline and three locations to manage, this was a perfectly executed example of a project that required a trusted network of professional auctioneers. Each auctioneer managed a location with CIA Industrial managing the overall project process, execution, and coordination of contracts, payments, etc. Over three days of bidding, we successfully completed this challenging project with sales that totaled $1.1M. We achieved the main goal of having all assets removed, bolts cut to floor level leaving the facilities in a broom swept condition ready to be turned back over to the landlord(s).

“As the VP of Operations at Misfits Market, I had the pleasure of working with CIA Industrial during a challenging time for our company. We quickly needed to exit three regional distribution centers in Salt Lake City, New Jersey, and Dallas. CIA Industrial stepped in and not only purchased the assets but also efficiently removed them through public auction, exceeding our expectations in both speed and professionalism. They left our facilities clean and ready to return to the landlord(s). I am extremely satisfied with my choice and highly recommend CIA Industrial for their outstanding service and reliability.”
