Joey has played a role at CIA Industrial ever since he was able to run clerk sheets from the auction block to the auction office. A natural on the floor and avid apprentice of his father, uncle and brother, he spent many summers in his youth learning the talent and hustle of the game, and soaking up as much knowledge as possible about the industrial auction business. Whether he was pushing the auction cart, cleaning facilities, or photographing machinery, he was always by his dad’s side when walking a deal. It’s no surprise that his first car was from an auction.
After graduating from the Reppert School of Auctioneering in the summer of 2008, he became a regular on the auction block as our secondary auctioneer to dad Jeff Luggen Sr. Bid calling is where he thrives, but over the years he’s also taken on an advertising role designing ads, brochures and other target marketing collateral for upcoming auctions. He also dedicates time toward continuing education, and is an active member in the Machinery Dealers National Association.
Now serving as principal auctioneer, Joey works every day to live up to the Luggen name, and continue the longstanding relationships with clients and industry partners his family built over decades. He’s even already thinking about the 4th generation and hoping to hand the business down to his two boys in the future. He loves what he does, but he also loves cars and cheering for the Arsenal F.C.
