Our Founders
Big Jim served his country proudly during World War II, then returned to begin his business career buying and selling excess war goods with his company, Wright Surplus Sales. As his expertise in the field of industrial machinery and equipment grew, he and wife Stella made the decision to go into business for themselves, and established Cincinnati Industrial Auctioneers in 1961. All six of his children worked in the business at one time or another with sons, Jerome and Jeffrey, taking over in 1981.
With their uncompromising work ethic, relationship-focused approach, and commitment to the hustle of the business, they began actively seeking new growth opportunities, expanding the company in both size and scope. The company flourished under Jerome and Jeff’s management, growing from 5 employees in a home office to a full-time staff of 30 servicing clients nationwide. They also made sure to instill the value of honest, reliable, hard work that the business was built upon in their three sons, so they would one day join them in providing top nationwide auction and appraisal services for generations to come.
